Lado Gurgenidse
Wladimer (Lado) Gurgenidze ( Georgian ვლადიმერ (ლადო) გურგენიძე; born December 17, 1970 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian banker and politician . From October 2004 to November 2007 he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sakartwelos Banki in Tbilisi. From November 2007 to October 2008 he was Prime Minister of Georgia.
Life
education
He graduated from Tbilisi State University . In 1990 he continued his education at Middlebury College in the USA . He graduated from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University with a Master of Business Administration .

Gurgenidze entered the investment banker Dutch bank MeesPierson one. In 1997 he went to ABN AMRO Corporate Finance in Russia, where in 1998 he was first head of the mergers and acquisitions department in the developing European markets based in London, then head of ABN AMRO Technology Finance. In 2003 he moved to Putnam Lovell NBF , a global investment subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada .
In 2004 he returned to Georgia, where he became Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Sakartwelos Banki (German: Bank of Georgia ). Under his leadership, Sakartwelos Banki rose to become one of the country's leading credit institutions. In 2006 it was named the best bank in Georgia by the Financial Times Group and The Banker magazine. Gurgenidze is also a member of the supervisory boards of Galt & Taggart Securities, Galt & Taggart Capital and the supervisory board of the Georgian Stock Exchange.

After Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli submitted his resignation for health reasons on November 16, 2007, President Mikheil Saakashvili proposed Gurgenidze as his successor that same evening. Observers suspected a connection with the mass protests that year . President Saakashvili, as an economist, would have hoped Gurgenidze would optimize the economic growth process and, above all, improve the labor market situation, because despite the good economic situation, the high unemployment caused dissatisfaction among the population. On October 27, 2008 Gurgenidze resigned from the office of head of government. According to President Saakashvili, Gurgenidze will head a commission that will stabilize Georgia's financial system in connection with the financial crisis from 2007 onwards .
Others
Gurgenidze has British citizenship in addition to Georgian . He is married and has three children. He became famous in 2006 when he presented a Georgian version of the TV show The Apprentice on Rustavi 2 .
