Giovanni Checchinato (born August 20, 1957 in Latina , Province of Latina , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Severo .

Life

Giovanni Checchinato received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Latina-Terracina-Sezze-Priverno on July 4, 1981 .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of San Severo on January 13, 2017 . He was ordained episcopate on April 23rd of the same year by the Bishop of Latina-Terracina-Sezze-Priverno, Mariano Crociata . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Benevento , Felice Accrocca , and his predecessor Lucio Angelo Maria Renna OCarm . The inauguration in the diocese of San Severo took place on May 6, 2017.
