Lucio Angelo Maria Renna OCarm (born September 22, 1941 in San Pietro Vernotico ) is an Italian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of San Severo .

Life

Lucio Angelo Maria Renna joined the Congregation of the Carmelites on 12 September 1958 in, put on 8 December 1962, the profession , and received on April 2, 1966, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Avezzano on June 9, 1999 . The Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Lucas Cardinal Moreira Neves OP , ordained him episcopal on September 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Armando Dini , Archbishop of Campobasso-Boiano , and Cosmo Francesco Ruppi , Archbishop of Lecce . As a motto he chose In obsequio Jesu Christi .

On September 2, 2006 he was welcomed by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Bishop of San Severo and introduced into office on October 14th of the same year.

He is Prior of the Commandery of San Severo of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on January 13, 2017.
