Giovanni Danielli

Giovanni-Martino Danielli (* 1954 ) is a Swiss geographer and spatial planner .

Life

Danielli studied geography with minor subjects economics and social sciences at the University of Geneva and graduated in 1978 with a diploma. From 1981 to 1984 he was a research assistant at the University of Basel , where he received his doctorate in 1985. He completed a postgraduate degree in spatial planning at the ETH Zurich .

From 1984 to 1987 Danielli worked as a planner in the area of ​​footpaths and hiking trails at the working group for pedestrians . From 1987 to 1992 he was Deputy Head of the Office for Spatial Planning of the Canton of Graubünden and then until 2000 Deputy Head of the Office for Environment of the Canton of Solothurn . From 2000 to 2005 Danielli worked as a research assistant at the Federal Office of Transport . From 2004 to August 2015 he was a lecturer for transport and tourism policy, nature and society, spatial and transport planning and ecotourism at the Institute for Tourism Economics at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences . From August 2012 to September 2013, Danielli worked intermittently as head of structure planning for the cantons of western Switzerland (Valais, Vaud, Genève, Friborg, Neuchâtel, Jura) and the canton of Ticino at the Federal Office for Spatial Development . Danielli has been working at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HEVS) in Sierre as a full professor in tourism and mobility since September 2015. He is a member of the Mobility Lab.
