Giovanni Domenico Orsi de Orsini

Giovanni Domenico Orsi de Orsini (* 1634 in Vienna ; † July 14, 1679 in Prague ) was a Bohemian architect of Italian descent.
The son of the French builder Giovanni Batista Orsi and his wife Lucia spent most of his life in Bohemia. He had been based in Prague since the 1660s . At first he worked under the direction of Carlo Lurago , later he became self-employed as a builder and worked primarily for the order of the Jesuits , but also for other ecclesiastical institutions and the Bohemian nobility. In addition, he was also involved in the construction of Prague's city walls and projected 1678 the walled city of Eger ( Cheb ). Along with Francesco Caratti and Carlo Lurago, he was one of the most important early Baroque artists in Bohemia.
For the two master stonemasons Francesco della Torre and Giovanni Battista Passerini , who came to Prague from the imperial quarry near Vienna in 1653 , he and Domenico Rossi were the guarantor for the award of their Prague citizenship certificates on October 30, 1663 .
