Giovanni Marti (born June 5, 1972 in Zurich ) is media relations manager at the world football association FIFA and a journalist . Until August 2012 he worked as Head of Communication at FC Zurich and before that (until September 2009) he was an editor and reporter at Radio 24 . He also worked as a floorball official at the Swiss floorball association, Swiss Unihockey, and at UHC Dietlikon.

Giovanni Marti, the son of Italian immigrants, grew up in Zollikon and attended primary and secondary school there. After the Matura type D (modern language direction) he began training as a journalist and studied psychology and pedagogy.

Sports

From 1992 to 1997 Marti was a football junior trainer at the Zollikon sports club and from 1997 to 1998 junior trainer at YF Juventus Zurich.

Through his work as a journalist for the newspaper "Sport" Marti came in 1998 for floorball and was official and Press Officer of the Swiss Floorball Association Swiss floorball . Marti took part in a total of 14 world championships with the various national teams. From 2003 to 2007 and from 2013 to 2014 he was the sports director of the NLA floorball club UHC Dietlikon . His greatest success with the national floorball team was the 2005 World Cup in Singapore, where the team won gold. Marti had further great successes in 2006 with the title of Swiss champion and cup winner with the women's floorball club Dietlikon in the NLA. In 2007 another Swiss champion title followed as well as winning the European Cup with the same team. In 2008, Giovanni Marti became world champion as head of sport with the women's floorball U19 national team. In addition to his work as head of sports at Dietlikon and media officer at Swiss Unihockey, Marti was the ice hockey assistant trainer for the novices of the ZSC Lions from 2007 to 2008 .

DJ Nightmare / DJ Professor

From 1987 to 2000 Giovanni Marti worked as a trance DJ under the names "DJ Nightmare" and "DJ Professor". His affection for techno music and especially for trance made him a connoisseur of the scene. Thanks to the collaboration with some well-known trance DJs, some productions were created. For professional reasons he ended his DJ career with one last appearance on the occasion of his 28th birthday on June 5, 2000.

Journalistic activity

From 1993 to 1996 Marti worked as a journalist for the Zolliker local newspaper “Zolliker Bote” and for the regional newspaper Zürichsee-Zeitung , then for a year as a sports journalist for Blick . From 1998 to 2000 Giovanni Marti was a video journalist for Tele M1 and sports reporter Radio Argovia . From December 2000 until September 2009 he worked as an editor and news anchor at Radio 24.

FCZ and ZSC

From 2007 to 2009 Marti commented as stadium announcer in the Letzigrund on the games of FC Zurich and in the Hallenstadion since 2002 during the ice hockey season the games of the ZSC Lions. In 2009 Marti was stadium speaker at the Ice Hockey World Championship in Kloten .

After September 2009 Giovanni Marti headed the communications department at FC Zurich. As spokesman for the club, his area of ​​responsibility included all media work, coordinating appointments for players and coaches and leading media conferences.

On September 1, 2012 Marti moved to the media department of the world football association FIFA .
