Tele M1 is a licensed regional private television broadcaster in Switzerland for the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn .

CH Media , a joint venture of the NZZ media group and AZ Medien , has been the owner of Tele M1 since 2018 . CH Media started operations on October 1, 2018. Tele M1 was previously owned by AZ Medien.

The transmission area includes the cantons of Aargau , Solothurn and neighboring regions. Tele M1 can be received via cable, via various digital offers (SwisscomTV, SunriseTV etc.) and as a live stream .

Tele M1 works closely with the broadcasters TeleZüri and TeleBärn , which are also owned by CH Media. The editor-in-chief of Tele M1 is Stephan Gassner.

General

Tele M1 has existed in its current form since January 1995. In the first half of 2018, the transmitter had a daily range of around 105,800 people (or 9.2% of the potential of 1.156 million people) in its license area (people 3+ with guests) , in German-speaking Switzerland of 146,800 people (or 2.8% of the potential of 5,186 million people), making it one of the leading Swiss regional broadcasters. The station's flagship is the daily news program Aktuell (see program). The annual budget is around 8 million francs. The transmitter is located in Aarau at Neumattstrasse 1.

history

Tele M1 was launched in 1995 by AZ Medien AG. Regional television has been broadcast on the relevant frequencies since 1990 under the name "RüslerTV". On January 1, 2012, Tamedia's Aarau-based media company also took over the TeleZüri and TeleBärn channels. Under the umbrella of AZ Medien, Tele M1 together with the broadcasters TeleZüri and TeleBärn formed an actual broadcasting family.

After a changing program in the afternoon and the evening before (2:00 pm - 6:00 pm), the main Tele M1 program begins at 6:00 pm. The program hour 6.00–7.00 pm is repeated every hour after the first broadcast, with the regional news being updated well into the night if the news is appropriate. The core of the program is the regional news program Aktuell . The station's video journalists produce around a quarter of an hour of news every day. The focus is on current stories from the Aargau and Solothurn regions. At major events, the station also deals with national or international topics. Various current talk and entertainment programs follow in the second half hour of the program.

Technical

Tele M1's studio is located in Telliquartier in Aarau . News material is collected from video journalists using Sony - XDCAM . Entertainment programs and studio productions are realized by cameramen with ENG cameras XDCAM HD . The image and sound material is processed exclusively on digital editing suites. The finished cut and voiced reports are then imported into the computer-aided playout system.
