Giovanni Tadolini (born October 18, 1789 (according to other information: 1793 ) in Bologna ; † November 29, 1872 there ) was an Italian composer , conductor and singing teacher .

Tadolini's best-known composition is the completion of the six movements of the Stabat Mater by Gioachino Rossini from 1832, a commissioned composition that Rossini was initially unable to complete on time due to an illness. When the work was later to be published, Rossini completed his composition and Tadolini's movements fell into oblivion. He also composed eight operas, symphonies, sonatas, chamber music, and numerous sacred works and songs.

He was married to the singer Eugenia Tadolini , who was previously his student.
