Giovanni Vincenzo Tasso

Giovanni Vincenzo Tasso (born August 13, 1850 in Montiglio , Asti province , † August 24, 1919 in Aosta ) was an Italian clergyman. He was Bishop of Aosta in the Aosta Valley .

Life

Giovanni Vincenzo Tasso was the son of Giacomo Tasso and Teresa Scaglia. From 1862 to 1865 he attended the school of the Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri in Turin and later took part in lessons with Don Bosco . He received on 29 March 1873 at the Vincentians the priesthood .

On March 30, 1908, he was by Pius X for bishop of the diocese of Aosta appointed. The episcopal ordination received his Cardinal Rafael Merry del Val y Zulueta , Cardinal Priest of Santa Prassede , on May 28, 1908th

Giovanni Vincenzo Tasso died in Aosta on August 24, 1919.

In the neo-Gothic Notre-Dame du Rosaire chapel in Aosta Cathedral there is a relief with the portrait of the bishop.
