action

Construction worker Moser balances unsecured on a free-standing beam. He loses his balance, but can hold on to the beam. His helmet falls into the depths. The foreman, who until then wanted to get him back on safe ground, triggers the alarm. Moser, however, sits down on the beam away from the group talking to him. HR manager Thadée Chisowsky believes that Moser is suicidal. Moser tries to get him to argue with him on the beam, but Thadée refuses because he is not free from vertigo. After all, Moser demands a longer lunch break, work without insurance and more money.

Personnel manager Igor Chisowsky appears and wants to put an end to the hustle and bustle by encouraging the watching workers to continue working. But they refuse to leave as long as Moser is not safe. Now site manager Julius, the father of Thadée and Igor, is brought in. Julius crawls to Moser on the beam and they both negotiate. Julius accepts the new demands for work shoes as well as the demand for work without safety. In the case of the demand for a 25 percent danger bonus, both agree after negotiations on 13 percent. Moser leaves the bar and goes with Julius to his office. Here Julius instructs his employees to pay Moser off and to fire him immediately.

Awards

Summit Talk was nominated in 1997 for a César in the Best Short Film category.
