The French reporter Jacques Mayano travels to southeast France on behalf of the Vatican. There he accompanies a commission that is supposed to investigate an alleged apparition of the Virgin Mary . The young seer Anna is shielded by several priests and surrounded by believers. Many people place their hopes in the apparitions, and Anna becomes more and more caught up in a vortex of expectations. Investigative observations, events and verifications of truth ultimately do not lead to any objective clarification.
