Girolamo della Porta
Girolamo della Porta (born November 14, 1746 in Gubbio , † September 5, 1812 in Florence ) was an Italian cardinal .
Life
After his ordination , Girolamo della Porta was among other things secretary of the Congregation of Good Government (Congregatio boni regiminis) between 1778 and 1787 and general treasurer of the Apostolic Chamber from 1794 to 1800 .
On February 23, 1801 , Pope Pius VII created Girolamo della Porta cardinal . At the same time he took over the vacancy as cardinal priest of Santa Maria in Via on February 23, 1801 and held this position until September 20, 1802. Subsequently, on September 20, he succeeded Giuseppe Maria Doria Pamphilj as cardinal priest of San Pietro in Vincoli and held this office until his death on September 5, 1812. He was the successor of Ignazio Busca between 1803 and 1809 Prefect of the Congregation of the Good government and at the same time chamberlain of the Holy College of Cardinals from 1808 to 1809 ,
