Live and act

Giuseppe Fedeli is also known under the names Giuseppe Fedeli Saggione, Giuseppe Saggion, Saggione Venetiano or Joseph Saggione .

Unfortunately, not much is known about his life, nor about the exact date of birth and death. He comes from a family of musicians who mainly worked in Venice from the second half of the 17th century to the first half of the 18th century . He was probably born in Venice. His father Carlo Fedeli (born around 1622) played in the orchestra of the Basilica di San Marco as a string instrumentalist, where he was appointed concertmaster in 1661 and held this position throughout his life - along with other varied musical activities in various orchestras and theaters. Giuseppe Fedeli had three brothers, Alessandro Fedeli and Antonio Fedeli - also musicians in the orchestra of the Basilica San Marco - and Ruggiero Fedeli . Giuseppe Fedeli's year of birth was definitely well before 1670, since he joined the orchestra as a trombonist in 1679. In 1694 he became a member of the instrumentalists' guild in Venice. Around 1715 he moved to Paris . Fedeli dedicated his Sonata op. 1 for violin and double bass to the Saxon Elector and King in Poland, Friedrich August (August the Strong).
