Giuseppe Gonzaga
Giuseppe Maria Gonzaga (born March 20, 1690 in Guastalla ; † August 16, 1746 ibid) was Duke of Guastalla from 1729 .
He was the younger son of Duke Vincenzo Gonzaga of Guastalla and brother of his successor Antonio Ferrante Gonzaga , who he succeeded in 1729.
Although Giuseppe was the last male member of the Guastalla line of Gonzaga , he married two years later, on March 29, 1731. His wife was Eleanor von Holstein (* February 18, 1715 - April 18, 1760), daughter of Duke Leopold to Wiesenburg .
Since the marriage remained childless, Guastalla was drafted in after his death by Emperor Franz I and two years later (1748) it was united with the Habsburg duchy of Parma .
