Giuseppe Maria Borga

Giuseppe Maria Borga (born December 26, 1935 in Prague , † July 3, 2010 in Rome ) was an Italian diplomat .

On October 12, 1963 he married Agnes-Maria Toska Alice Aloysia von Hahn (born June 21, 1938 in Neuhaus) in Giekau and they had four children.

Career

In 1961 he entered the foreign service and became Vice Consul in Munich . In 1963 he was appointed Secretary of State in Washington, DC . In 1968 he was appointed Legation Councilor there. In 1972 he was posted to London . From 1978 he headed the economic department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome and was appointed Ministre plénipotentiaire . In 1979 he was appointed second class envoy there. In 1985 he was appointed ambassador first class there. From 1986 to 1990 he was ambassador to Stockholm (Sweden). From 1991 to 1992 he was Deputy Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1993 to 1997 Ambassador to Buenos Aires (Argentina). From 1998 to 2000 he was ambassador to Lima (Peru). In 2000 he was retired .
