Giuseppe Panocchia

Giuseppe Panocchia (born October 20, 1939 in Rome , † February 6, 2017 in Parma ) was an Italian diplomat .

He was married to Michela Campanile and had three children.

Education

In 1964 he graduated in Law and joined the Foreign Service.

Career

In 1966 he was employed at the embassy in Jeddah . In 1970 he was employed in the embassy in Tehran . In 1974 he was appointed Legation Councilor. In 1975 he was employed in Amt III, Department for Emigration and Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rome. From 1976 he was employed in the public relations department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy) , where he was appointed Legation Councilor in 1980 and which he headed from 1981 to 1987. In 1984 he was a member of the Permanent Mission of Italy to the EEC . In 1986 he was appointed envoy extraordinary and ministre plénipotentiaire second class.

From January 12, 1990 to March 7, 1995 he was ambassador in Rabat .

From 1995 to 1997 he was ambassador to Tel Aviv .

He was accepted as an officer in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic .
