Giuseppe Pisani

Giuseppe Pisani (* 1757 in Carrara ; † December 27, 1839 in Modena ) was an Italian sculptor .

Life

Pisani studied at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence , after which he worked mainly in Rome . He moved to Vienna and worked for the House of Este , where Archduke Franz appointed him court sculptor . In 1814 he was appointed Primo scultore , in 1821 he was director of the academy in Modena, where he died in 1839.

During his time in Vienna he created two portrait busts , which are now kept in the Vienna Army History Museum .
