Giuseppe Walter Maccotta (born May 3, 1915 in Loreto Aprutino ) was an Italian diplomat .

Education

On July 17, 1935, he graduated from the University of Rome with a law degree .

Career

In 1938 he joined the foreign service. In 1939 he was Vice Consul in Nice . From July 3 to September 3, 1940 he was dismissed for military mobilization and then returned to Rome. From 1945 to 1949 he was the legation secretary in Rio de Janeiro . From 1950 to 1954 he was employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . From 1955 to 1955 he was secretary of the delegation to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris . From 1956 to 1958 he was consul general in Tunis . From 1963 to 1968 he was Minister Counselor in Paris .

From 1969 to 1970 he was ambassador to Tel Aviv .

From June 10, 1971 to May 24, 1977 he was ambassador to Belgrade .

From May 24, 1977 to 1980 he was ambassador to Moscow . In 1980 he was retired .
