Rieux-de-Pelleport ( Occitan Rius de Pelapòrc ) is a French commune with 1304 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). Rieux-de-Pelleport belongs to the Arrondissement Foix (until 2017 Pamiers ) and the canton Pamiers-1 (until 2015 Varilhes ). The inhabitants are called Ruxéens .

Rieux-de-Pelleport lies on the Ariège river on the edge of the Pyrenees . Saint-Jean-du-Falga is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Bauzeil in the north and north-west, Benagues in the north, Varilhes in the east, Crampagna in the south, Loubens in the west and south-west and Artix in the west.
