Gestiès ( Occitan : Gestièrs ) is a French commune with 28 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Foix and the canton Sabarthès (until 2015: canton Vicdessos ). The residents call themselves Gestiérois .
geography
Gestiès is located about 21 kilometers south of Foix in the Pyrénées Ariégeoises Regional Nature Park . Gestiès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Miglos in the north and northeast, Aston in the east, Ordino (Andorra) in the south and Siguer in the west.
