Val-de-Sos is a French commune with 627 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Foix and the canton of Sabarthès .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by amalgamating the previous municipalities of Vicdessos , Goulier , Sem and Suc-et-Sentenac , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Vicdessos.

location

The municipality is located in the Pyrenees , in the Pyrénées Ariégeoise Regional Nature Park . Neighboring municipalities are Rabat-les-Trois-Seigneurs in the northwest, Gourbit in the north, Orus in the northeast, Illier-et-Laramade in the east, Lercoul in the southeast, Auzat in the south and Le Port in the west.
