Vicdessos ( Occitan : Vic de Sòs ) is a village and a former French municipality with 502 (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belonged to the Arrondissement Foix and the canton Sabarthès (until 2015: canton Vicdessos ). The residents call themselves Vicdessossois .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Vicdessos , Sem , Goulier and Suc-et-Sentenac were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Val-de-Sos and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Vicdessos.

Vicdessos is located about 23 kilometers south-southwest of Foix in the Pyrénées Ariégeoises Regional Nature Park on the Vicdessos River . Vicdessos is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Suc-et-Sentenac in the north and northwest, Orus in the north, Illier-et-Laramade in the east and northeast, Lercoul in the southeast, Sem and Goulier in the south and Auzat in the west and southwest.
