Auzat ( Occitan : Ausat ) is a French commune with 488 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Foix and the canton Sabarthès (until 2015: canton Vicdessos ). The residents call themselves Auzatois .

Auzat is located about 24 kilometers south-southwest of Foix in the Pyrénées Ariégeoises Regional Nature Park on the Vicdessos River . The municipality borders directly on Andorra and Spain . Auzat is surrounded by the neighboring communities
