Ferrières-sur-Ariège is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 771 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Foix and the canton Foix (until 2015 Foix-Rural ). The inhabitants are called Ferriérois .

Ferrières-sur-Ariège is about 72 kilometers south of Toulouse . The Ariège limits the municipality to the east. Ferrières-sur-Ariège is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Foix in the north and west, Montgaillard in the east, Prayols in the south and Ganac in the west.
