Suc-et-Sentenac ( Occitan Suc e Sentenac ) is a village and a former French commune with 56 (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belonged to the Arrondissement Foix and the canton Sabarthès (until 2015: canton Vicdessos ). The residents call themselves Sucatels and Sentenacerois .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Vicdessos , Sem , Goulier and Suc-et-Sentenac were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Val-de-Sos and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Vicdessos.

geography

Suc-et-Sentenac is located about 24 kilometers southwest of Foix in the Pyrénées Ariégeoises Regional Nature Park on the Sux River . Suc-et-Sentenac is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Rabat-les-Trois-Seigneurs in the north and north-east, Gourbit in the north-east, Orus in the east, Vicdessos in the south-east, Auzat in the south and Le Port in the west and north-west.
