Goulier ( Occitan : Gòlier ) is a village and a former French commune at the age of 46 (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belonged to the Arrondissement Foix and the canton Sabarthès (until 2015: canton Vicdessos ). The residents call themselves Goulierens .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Vicdessos , Sem , Goulier and Suc-et-Sentenac were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Val-de-Sos and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Vicdessos.

geography

Goulier is located about 24 kilometers south-southwest of Foix in the Pyrénées Ariégeoises Regional Nature Park . Goulier is surrounded by the neighboring villages of Vicdessos in the north, Sem in the east and northeast, Lercoul in the east and southeast and Auzat in the south and west.

In the south is the Goulier neige ski area .
