Giuseppina is a British documentary - short film from 1960 by James Hill . The film won an Oscar in 1961 for Best Documentary Short Film . The production was funded by the oil company BP , which also sold the film.

The film takes place at an Italian gas station, which is passed by different people. While refueling, they let the gas station attendant's daughter, Giuseppina, entertain and play with her.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Giuseppina was shown 185 times on British television as a so-called trade test color film . These films were broadcast in the off-peak hours of the early days of UK color television so that electronics stores and TV engineers could calibrate their equipment. Excerpts from the film were also shown on Vision On , the BBC's program for deaf and hard of hearing children. The film also received a DVD release as an extra on the BFI Flipside DVD for Lunch Hour .
