meaning

The approximately 515.5  hectare area was placed under nature protection in 2014 under the key number PB-071 .

Protection goals are the preservation, development and restoration of the communities and habitats of rare and endangered as well as typical landscape, wild animal and plant species. The natural meandering stream of the Glasebach with well-developed riparian vegetation as well as its source areas and tributaries is particularly to be protected and promoted.

Kleinseggenriede and wet heaths, the brook-accompanying or quarry-like widened alder-ash alluvial forest and birch-bog forest are particularly to be protected . By converting conifer populations that are not appropriate to the location, a location-appropriate, natural deciduous mixed forest is to be restored. In addition, bog areas on stagnate glacier sites with typical habitats of the wet heaths and Kleinseggenriede are to be restored. The natural soil functions of soils that are particularly worthy of protection, in particular the bog and groundwater or waterlogged soils, must be protected and developed.
