The Eselsbett and Schwarzes Bruch nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the city of Lichtenau in the Paderborn district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends east of the core city of Lichtenau. The district road K 26 runs through the area in an east-west direction. North-west runs the state road L 817, east the L 763 and south-west the B 68 .
