Gleb Sergeyevich Bakshi ( Russian Глеб Сергеевич Бакши * 12. November 1995 in Simferopol , Crimea ) is a Ukrainian - Russian boxer in the middleweight division .
Career
Gleb Bakschi took part in the 2011 European Junior Championships for Ukraine, where he reached the quarter-finals. After the annexation of Crimea in 2014 , he boxed for Russia. At Russian championships he was eliminated from the welterweight round of 16 in 2015 and 2016, before he reached the semi-finals in the middleweight division in 2017 and won a bronze medal. In 2018 he won each of his five fights, becoming the Russian middleweight champion for the first time, and he also won the international Feliks Stamm Tournament in Poland .
After he won a bronze medal at the Cologne Boxing World Cup 2019 and was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Oleksandr Chysnjak at the 2019 European Games in Minsk , he took part in the 2019 World Championships in Yekaterinburg . There he won the middleweight gold medal by beating Amin Kuschkow, Michael Nevin, Arlen López , Hebert Conceição and Eumir Marcial .
