The bell house is a 3103 m above sea level. A. high mountain peak of the Glockhauskamm in the Venediger group . The summit is in the north-west of East Tyrol . The Glockhaus was first climbed on August 21, 1882 by L. Purtscheller with the chamois hunter G. Nöckler. I. Hechenbleikner and E. Franzelin made the first crossing on September 1, 1904.

The Glockhaus is located in the municipality of St. Jakob in Defereggen, a little south of the state border with Italy . In the north, the Glockhausscharte ( 2968 m above sea level ) separates the Glockhaus from the Spoonspitze ( 3190 m above sea level ) and the Prettaukamm . In the south, the Jagdhausscharte ( 2974 m above sea level ) marks the transition to the northeast peak of the Jagdhausspitze ( 3165 m above sea level ). The Arvental runs to the west of the Glockhaus and the Schwarzachtal to the east. The remains of the Arventalkees (Affentalkees) are located between the Glockhaus and Jagdhausspitze.
Promotion opportunities
The easiest way to climb the Glockhaus starts in the Arvental, which can be reached from South Tyrol via the Klammljoch and from East Tyrol via the Jagdhausalm . Then the ascent follows the Arventalbach up to an altitude of around 2300 meters, where the pathless ascent begins in a northeasterly direction. The Glockhausscharte is accessed via the remains of the Arventalkee and then the final ascent via the blocks of the north ridge ( II ).
