location
The top of the Jagdhausspitze is located in the municipality of St. Jakob in Defereggen, a little south of the state border with Italy . In the north, the Jagdhausscharte ( 2974 m above sea level ) separates the Jagdhausspitze from the Glockhaus ( 3103 m above sea level ), in the south the south ridge drops to the Hörnle ( 2744 m above sea level ). The Jagdhausspitze consists of the northeast or main summit and the south summit ( 3129 m above sea level ), which is also known as the small Jagdhausspitze . The remains of the Arventalkees (Affentalkees) lie between the Jagdhausspitze and the Glockhaus, and those of the Jagdhauskees between the north-east and south-west peaks. The Arvental runs to the west of the Jagdhausspitze and the Schwarzachtal to the east.
Promotion opportunities
The normal route to the Jagdhausspitze starts at the Jagdhausalm , which can be reached from South Tyrol via the Klammljoch and from East Tyrol via the Alpengasthaus Oberhaus. This is followed by the ascent over the grass slopes on the west side, initially easy to the south-west summit. The exposed final ascent to the north-east summit is via the short south ridge ( I ).
