The spoon tip , also large spoon tip or large spoonful , is 3190  m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Prettaukamm in the Venediger group . The summit is located in the northwest of East Tyrol and is the highest point of the Prettaukamm. The spoon tip was first climbed on July 25, 1878 by Josef, Karl and Eduard Daimer with Johann Niederwieser .

location

The spoon tip is located in the municipality of St. Jakob in Defereggen just south of the state border with Italy . In the south, the Glockhausscharte ( 2968  m above sea level ) separates the spoon tip from the Glockhaus ( 3103  m above sea level ) and the Glockhaus ridge . In the north, the Löfflerscharte ( 2968  m above sea level ) forms the boundary to the Löfflergrat or its southwestern summit ( 3124  m above sea level ). The South Tyrolean Röttal runs north of the Spoonspitze, the Arvental to the west and the Schwarzachtal to the east. To the north there is a small glacier, the Rötfleckkees, and an unnamed glacier remnant can be found on the southeast slope of the Spoonspitze. The mountain flanks of the Löffelspitze are protected by the Hohe Tauern National Park .

Promotion opportunities

The Oberhausalm in the Schwarzachtal is a suitable starting point for ascent to the Spoonspitze, from where the ascent is initially to the northwest towards the Jagdhausalm . In the Jagdhausalm area, the Schwarzachtal meets the Arvental, and both valleys are suitable for further ascent. From the Arvental the path leads over the remains of the Aventalkee into the Glockhausscharte and over the south ridge to the summit ( III ). The south ridge is extremely fragile. This variant is therefore tricky, as it is in fact impossible to secure it properly. When climbing through the Schwarzachtal, you climb over the remains of the glacier into the Löfflerscharte and then follow the north ridge ( II ).
