Gloria Morti is a Finnish metal band from Heinola that was formed in 1999.
history
The band was founded in 1999 by Psycho (vocals), Juho Räihä (electric guitar), Abscess (electric guitar) and Jarmo Juurikka (drums). Initially, the band played Thrash Metal , but that changed a short time later. Some demo recordings followed and with the demo Ephemeral Lifespan , which was recorded in the Sundi Coop studio , the band signed a contract with the Japanese label World Chaos Production . With the help of Lars Eikind ( Before the Dawn ) and Nino Laurenne ( Thunderstone ) they completed the debut album Liefestream Corrosion in 2004.
The second album, called Eryx , was recorded and mixed by band guitarist Juho Räihä and was released on Stay-Heavy Records and Cyclone Empire in 2008. In addition, the band has already performed with bands such as Behemoth , Zyklon , Mayhem , The Crown and Dissection .
The third album, called Anthems of Annihilation , was released in 2010 through Cyclone Empire. Further albums followed in 2012 and 2016.
style
Above all, the playing of the keyboard is always present in the songs. The guttural vocals sound very aggressive. The guitars are melodic and the drums are played quickly. The use of blast beats is typical for the latter. The band is compared to other bands like Zyklon, Behemoth, Emperor , but also Nile .
