The miraculous image of Maria Dorfen is the miraculous image of the pilgrimage church of the Assumption in the city of Dorfen in Upper Bavaria .
The miraculous image of Maria Dorfen was created around 1740 as a high altar which was built from 1740 to 1749, based on a design from 1728 by Egid Quirin Asam . The miraculous image shows a seated Mother of God with the baby Jesus on her lap. The altar was replaced in 1868 by an altar in the neo-Romanesque style. From 1963 to 1971 the high altar was reconstructed according to Asam's design.
