God's Army (Myanmar)

God's Army is a rebel group in Myanmar , the former Burma.

God's Army was founded in 1997 as a splinter group of the Karen National Union . She campaigned for the independence of the Kayin State from Myanmar. Its members have been labeled as Christian fanatics and even Christian fundamentalist terrorists . The group became known in 2000 after being taken hostage at the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok , Thailand and the hospital in Ratchaburi , Thailand. According to official announcements, the organization is led by twin brothers Johnny and Luther Htoo . However, these were not even ten years old when the group was founded. In 2001 the group was considered to have been broken up by Myanmar and Thai troops. The two brothers surrendered to the Thai authorities in January 2001.
