Godela Habel

Godela Habel (born September 18, 1929 in Deutsch Krone ) is a German draftsman , painter and artist .

Works

Godela Habel studied painting and graphics from 1950 to 1953 at the Werkkunstschule Wuppertal and the Werkkunstschule Hannover . She is best known for her drawings and abstract material pictures. In her works, which often appear mysterious in form, she combines drawing and painting methods and derives from them her own associative imagery. In February 2000 she showed more or less condensed lines and surfaces on paper at an exhibition on the "theme of color" in the Bonn Artists' Forum, using color in nuanced brown-white-black gradations that were soaked in the finest red. In the 1990s she completed her work on the material images and has since then been exclusively concerned with drawings. She lives and works in Mehren in the Westerwald .

Appreciation

In 1998 Godela Habel received the € 5,000 GEDOK Art Prize, which was donated as the Dr. Theobald Simon Prize in 1988 by Bonn art lover and patron Gabriele Vossebein in memory of her father.
