Godelhausen is a district of the local community Theisbergstegen in the district of Kusel in Rhineland-Palatinate . Until 1969 it was an independent community.
geography
Godelhausen is located in the southern municipal area on the left bank of the Glan in the so-called Musikantenland , a part of the North Palatinate Bergland .
history
From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Godelhausen was incorporated into the Kusel canton . In 1815 the place Austria was added. Just one year later, the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 the place was part of the Landkommissariat Kusel , which was then converted into a district office. In addition, Godelhausen was the seat of a mayor's office, to which the nearby Rutsweiler am Glan belonged.
In 1939 the place was incorporated into the Kusel district. After the Second World War , Godelhausen became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In 1967 the community won the gold medal in the competition “Our village should be more beautiful” . In the course of the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate , Godelhausen was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Theisbergstegen in 1969.
Culture
With two courtyards, a transverse house and the former school house, there are a total of four objects on site that are listed .
Infrastructure
The district road 18 , which connects the place with Theisbergstegen and Matzenbach , runs through Godelhausen . Although the Landstuhl – Kusel railway passes the eastern edge of the settlement, the place never had a train stop due to its small size. The next one is Theisbergstegen train station .
