Goldfinger is a punk band from Los Angeles that was formed in 1993.

Band history

Her debut album Goldfinger was released in 1996 and quickly stormed the charts of American college and indie radio stations. With their second album Hang-Ups , the Californians tried to build on the success of Goldfinger , but they didn't quite succeed. The third record, Stomping Ground , returned to the level of their debut album. To promote this album, Goldfinger toured Germany in 2000 with the Bloodhound Gang (as their opening act). After the label change to Jive / Zomba and personnel changes, Goldfinger released her album Open Your Eyes in 2002 . Two months later, they toured North America as the opening act for Mest .

The songs Superman and Spokesman can also be heard in Tony Hawk's Skateboarding and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, on Sony PlayStation , Nintendo 64 , Nintendo GameCube and Sega Dreamcast , and Superman can also be heard in the film Kingpin . Her cover version of the song 99 Luftballons von Nena is part of the soundtrack in Gran Turismo . 99 Red Balloons can also be heard in the films Not Another Teenage Film and Eurotrip , their cover of The Spiral Starecases More Today Than Yesterday takes place during the credits of Waterboy - The guy with the water damage .

style

With the label change and the release of the album Open Your Eyes , Goldfinger increasingly addressed political and animal welfare issues. Front man John Feldmann has been a vegan and activist for the animal welfare organization PETA since the band was founded .
