The Goldflössel , rarely also Goldbach (Czech Zlatý potok ), is a right-hand tributary of the central Mandau with a length of approx. 4 km in the Czech town of Varnsdorf .

description

The stream rises on the eastern slope of the Valy ( Schanzenberg ) in Studánka ( Schönborn ) in the Czech Republic. It flows for a length of about one kilometer to the northeast to the German border; Before 1945, the now demolished village of Alt Schönborn (Stará Studánka) was in the valley. At the border it takes on the Stöcherbach flowing from the Stöcherberg. Between the Sieberhalle and the Konradberg (formerly Schiefnerberg) the meandering Goldflössel forms the German-Czech border for another kilometer. South of the Jentschberg, the Goldflössel flows onto the Seifhennersdorf district , where the water gushing out of the water flows into. South of the houses in Halbendorf, the stream flows parallel to the Czech border under the Mittelherwigsdorf – Varnsdorf – Eibau railway line . To the west of Warnsdorf Castle Hill, the stream changes its direction of flow to the south into the district of the Czech city of Varnsdorf. The Goldflössel flows into the Mandau near the Varnsdorf-pivovar Kocour stop.

With the exception of the headwaters in the center of Studánka and the estuary in Varnsdorf, the stream is unobstructed and natural. The largest part of the German stream section was placed under protection as a natural monument up to the Ölmühlenteich.

Halbendorfer oil mill

The mill property built around 1800, consisting of a surrounding stable house with two farm buildings, oil ramming, the oil mill pond fed by the Goldflössel and wheel arch system, was declared a technical monument. A granite water trough has been preserved in front of the house. The group of buildings, which is close to the Czech border, is surrounded by old trees.
