Goldstein Park (Bad Nauheim)
The Goldsteinpark is a public park on the eastern outskirts of Bad Nauheim in the Hessian Wetteraukreis and was one of the venues for the 2010 State Garden Show . In the center of the park there is the Goldstein Tower , a waterworks for the city of Bad Nauheim that is used as a lookout tower and forms a visual axis to the Johannisberg . The park slopes slightly in a westerly direction to the street Am Goldstein and borders there on the Main-Weser-Bahn and the area of the Bad Nauheim train station , in the east the B3 runs . It belongs together with the Goldstein tower for a cultural monument excellent overall conditioning on Goldstein .
history
On the occasion of the state horticultural show in 2010, the then Goldsteinwald was developed into a community park, which since then has, among other things, an adventure forest playground for children around a fictional salt king (based on the Bad Nauheim brine springs ), as well as an area for open-air festivals and large lawns includes.
Even before the area was upgraded by converting it into a community park, the Am Goldstein development area with numerous apartments and a kindergarten was developing on the south-eastern edge of the park . Due to the high demand, the area has already been expanded twice.
Planet trail
Together with the opening of the State Garden Show in 2010, the planetary hiking trail was officially inaugurated. It begins in the immediate vicinity of the Goldstein Tower and extends from west to east on the Goldstein Park site with the sun ⊙ and the planets Mercury ⊙ , Venus ⊙ , Earth ⊙ , Mars ⊙ and Jupiter ⊙ . On a scale of 1: 2.8 billion, the route continues through Bad Nauheim via the train station with the Saturn ⊙ and through the Kurpark with the Uranus ⊙ and finally ends with the Neptune ⊙ and Pluto ⊙ on the Johannisberg at the Wetterau public observatory . The planetary hiking trail thus forms a connection between the other locations of the State Garden Show and also links other important monuments of the city such as the Sprudelhof or the war memorial at the foot of the Johannisberg.
The Wetterau public observatory had already been planning a planetary hiking trail since September 1995, but it was only in the course of the planning for the state horticultural show that it was ultimately implemented.
Events
In addition to the state horticultural show held in 2010 in Goldsteinpark and other parks in Bad Nauheim, civic festivals continue to take place regularly in Goldsteinpark, including the Soundgarden Festival .
