In 1949 the German cover version of She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain was published under the title From the blue mountains we come . The song was rewritten in German by Heinz Woezel and Peter de Vries. The shellac record was published in an edition of 100,000 pieces. The song became a huge hit and is featured in numerous song books today. Together with Caprifischer by Rudi Schuricke , it ushered in a wave of post-war hits that focused on Western motifs or Italian romanticism.
