OSA Goliath

The Goliath class is a class of two installation vessels , the OSA Goliath and the Sampson , which are used for the construction of offshore facilities such as B. offshore wind farms are used.

history

The ships were built between 2006 and 2010. The keel-laying of the OSA Goliath took place on June 22, 2006, the launch on August 4, 2008. The ship was delivered on April 20, 2009. The Sampson's keel was laid on June 16, 2007, and the ship was launched on September 23, 2009. The ship was delivered on June 15, 2010. Both ships, which operate under the Panamanian flag , belong to the Luxembourg company CVI Global Lux Oil & Gas 4 Sàrl.

Equipment and technical data

The ships' machinery has an output of 21,000  kW . Eight Caterpillar generators with an output of 2525 kW each and a Caterpillar emergency generator with an output of 1000 kW are available for power generation.

It is driven by three built aft Rolls-Royce - azimuth thruster with an output of 3333 kW (US 305). In addition, the ship has two additional, retractable Rolls-Royce propeller nacelles, each with an output of 2400 kW (UL 255) and two transverse thruster systems with an output of 1355 kW each. The ships reach a maximum speed of 14  knots .

The ships are equipped with three cranes. The aft heavy lift crane has a capacity of 1600 t. It is a Liebherr MTC 78000 crane. This was installed in July 2009 within 23 days at the OSA Goliath and in August 2010 at the Sampson at Liebherr-MCCtec in Rostock . The boom is 87 meters long. The slewing ring has a diameter of nine meters and weighs almost 70 tons. The other two cranes have a capacity of 100 and 70 tons respectively.

The deckhouse of the ships is arranged in the forward area. It offers space for 192 people who can be accommodated in 80 single and 56 double rooms. The fair offers space for around 100 people. There are also four offices and two workshops as well as a hospital in the deckhouse. There is a helideck above the bridge .

Behind the superstructure is the 3584 square meter open working deck. Another 480 square meters are covered. The deck can be loaded with 5 to 10 t / m². In addition, the ships have three holds.

The ships, which are equipped with dynamic positioning , can stay at sea for 100 days without interruption. They have a bollard pull of 260 tons.
