history
Today's GoodMills Germany was founded in 1883, when Emil Kampffmeyer established a commission business for grain and flour in Potsdam . In the years that followed, his son Kurt Kampffmeyer (Sen.) expanded his father's family business by acquiring additional mill locations and even then led it to one of the largest German milling companies.
His son Kurt Kampffmeyer (June) continued to pursue this expansion strategy by acquiring a majority stake in Vereinigte Kunstmühlen (VK) Landshut Rosenheim AG , in addition to the merger with Duisburger Mühlen AG in 1973 . In 1975 Kampffmeyer also bought the Auer mill in Cologne-Deutz, which was merged with Ellmühle . The renewed expansion of the company not only resulted in an increase in production capacity - the addition of well-known brands to the product portfolio was decisive. The “Rosenmehl” brand was acquired with the Landshut location, the “Aurora” brand strengthened the business with the purchase of the Auer-Mühle in Cologne, which was later expanded to include the “Diamant” and “Gloria” brands. The group of companies has four of the best-known flour brands in Germany and is broadly positioned in business with major customers and end consumers.
In 1983 the company was renamed Vereinigte Kunstmühlen Aktiengesellschaft and Kampffmeyer Mühlen GmbH Handelshaus E. Kampffmeyer was taken over . At the general meeting on August 28, 1990, the name was changed to VK Mühlen Aktiengesellschaft and the head office was relocated from Landshut to Hamburg.
In 1999, the Hamburg BM Bäckermühlen AG was incorporated , which was then the third largest milling company in Germany. Today's GoodMills Group (formerly LLI Euromills) became the majority shareholder of VK Mühlen AG in 2004. In 2013 Kampffmeyer celebrated 130 years of company history.
In October 2014 VK Mühlen AG changed its name to GoodMills Deutschland GmbH .

With the takeover of BM Bäckermühlen by VK Mühlen, they came back to the Kampffmeyer Group in 1999. After Kurt Kampffmeyer Sen. went bankrupt, the United Art Mills took over the Kampffmeyer mills. In the course of the name change as VK Mühlen AG, the name was changed to Rosenmühle GmbH. Rosenmühle GmbH now grinds around 200,000 t of rye and wheat a year, especially the traditional rose flour.

In the 50s and 60s, extensive expansions were made to the mill, flour and grain log building as well as the technical systems. The grain was delivered by truck, train and ship. The mill had a grinding capacity of 300,000 tons per year, the storage capacity included 40,000 tons of grain, 10,000 tons of flour and over 2000 pallet spaces. About 75% of the energy requirement was covered by a large hydroelectric power plant that was completely renovated or newly built at the end of the 80s. The hydropower plant with an output of around 2000 kW was sold to Stadtwerke Hameln at the end of the 1990s. In the following years numerous production plants were shut down and sold. Up to April 1, 2013, 180,000 tons of wheat, rye and maize were processed here annually for the regional, national, European and international markets. The Hameln site was closed on April 1, 2013 and all machinery / technical systems and the connecting bridge over the Hamelin harbor were dismantled, as the aim was to ensure as far as possible that no one would produce flour there after the buildings were sold.
- The Pfortmühle is located on the edge of Hamelin's old town, the last of the Weser mills that gave it its name . It is now a listed building and serves as a library and restaurant.
