Google Fit was presented at Google I / O on June 25, 2014, after the release of Apple's iOS 8 HealthKit , which is considered a competitor. The application was made available to the public on October 28, 2014 and is available to all users using Android 4.0 or higher. The service is also integrated into the official Wear OS app for Apple's iOS operating system.

Google Fit includes several applications such as Nike Running , Strava , Polar Beat, and Aqualert. The partners also include HTC , LG , Withings, Motorola , Noom, Runtastic , Runkeeper. Users decide with whom to share their activities and can delete them at any time.

The web version of Google Fit was retired on March 19, 2019 and is no longer available. The smartphone apps are not affected.
