The Gooseberry River is a tributary of Lake Superior in the US state of Minnesota .
The river has its source in the Superior National Forest east of Kane Lake and south of Marble Lake . It initially flows south, later it turns to the southeast and east. The last kilometers before its confluence northeast of Silver Creek in Lake Superior, the river runs within Gooseberry Falls State Park . Here the Gooseberry River overcomes several waterfalls. The Minnesota State Route 61 crosses the river near the mouth.
The Gooseberry River is 37 km in length. Its catchment area covers 70.7 km².
