Gordon A. Blake

Gordon Aylesworth Blake ( July 22, 1910 , † September 1, 1997 ) was from July 1, 1962 to May 31, 1965 director of the US secret service NSA . He previously headed the Air Force Security Service and served as a Lieutenant General in the US Air Force .

Life

On December 7, 1941, Blake was stationed as an officer in tarmac operations at Pearl Harbor . Because of his brave behavior during the Japanese attack , he received the Silver Star for bravery.

When he started as director of the NSA, he kept Louis W. Tordella as deputy director and left him with the most secret operations of the intelligence service.
