Gordon Pilkington is a British film editor who has edited over 35 cinema and television productions in his 20-year career . Including films like Robin Hood and his daring companions , Whispering Shadows , The Black Devils of El Alamein , Sons and Lovers or A Man Goes His Way .

life and career

Gordon Pilkington began his career as a film editor in 1948 working for director Terence Fisher . In 1952 he edited the Ken Annakin's adventure film Robin Hood and his daring journeymen . Work followed in the following years, such as the knight film Under Black Visor (1954) with Alan Ladd by director Tay Garnett , Lewis Gilbert's thriller Demon of Women (1955) with the cast Dirk Bogarde , Margaret Lockwood and Kay Walsh , the crime film Whispering Shadows (1958 ) by Michael Anderson , Guy Green's war drama The Black Devils of El Alamein (1958) with Richard Attenborough , John Gregson and Michael Craig , the work for Robert Siodmak's film The Bitter and the Sweet (1959) or the James Cagney drama A Handshake of the Devil (1959).

In the 1960s, Pilkington worked as editor for Jack Cardiff's Oscar-winning drama Sons and Lovers , the Edmond T.
