Goswin Konrad Freiherr von Ketteler zu Harkotten (born April 5, 1677 , † January 31, 1747 ) was cathedral dean in Osnabrück and canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Goswin Konrad Baron von Ketteler zu Harkotten came from the Westphalian noble family von Ketteler zu Harkotten . He was a son of Johann von Ketteler zu Harkotten and Theodora Catharina von Schade zu Salvey. His brother Nikolaus Hermann (1676–1737) was vicar general in Münster.

Career and work

Together with his brother Nikolaus Hermann, Goswin Konrad studied theology at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome from 1694 to 1701 and left this institution as a deacon . In 1699 he came into possession of a cathedral priest in Osnabrück through the approval of the Pope and was first cathedral cantor and on March 28, 1728 cathedral dean . In Münster it came into the possession of a prebende in 1719 through the renunciation of the Elector Joseph Clemens . On January 28, 1732 he opted for the Oblegium Schmalamt and on October 9 of that year the Obedience of Senden .
