Gottfried Fankhauser

Gottfried Fankhauser (born November 21, 1870 in Trub ; † March 23, 1962 in Bern ) was a Sunday school teacher , writer and president of the Evangelical Society of the Canton of Bern .

After training as a teacher in Bern, he became a lecturer at the Evangelical Teachers' College in Schiers and married Maria-Louise Seeberger in 1898, with whom he had nine children.

In 1900 he became an employee of the Evangelical Society, initially working in Konolfingen and from 1907 in Bern, and in 1933 he became President of the Society.

He oversaw the German-speaking Bernese Sunday schools and published magazines for children and Sunday school teachers. From 1921 to 1938 he was director of the Muristalden teachers' college ( Muristalden campus ). He was partially the successor of Franz Eugen Schlachter as editor of the crumbs of Mr. Tisch and also wrote the obituary for Schlachter in his study magazine Der Schriftforscher .
